Teaching Kids Math – The Fun Way

As a young mother, I always wanted the best for my children. I wanted to make sure they succeeded in life and had the very best education possible. But as a young mother, I also did not know the best way to get there, but I found out. I learned after trial and error, that the be best way to teach any child is by making things fun.

I would spend time with my children playing memory games and games that taught them to think for themselves. I was never so proud as when my son beat me at Battleship by the age of 5. Now that takes a lot of brains to do (not that I am very good at the game.)

I also found that developing my son’s math skills would be the best way to ensure that he would be successful in school. Sure, you can teach your children the old fashioned way by showing him or her “flashcards,” but I found that my child would not retain this knowledge. I’m sure many of you mothers and fathers can understand.

But, then I started playing math games with my son and he picked things up right away. I also found that my son would retain what he was learning, and didn’t even realize it. He picked up addition and subtraction without even blinking and moved onto multiplication by the time he was six. I was amazed and he found out that he actually liked math when he got to first grade.

I felt like I was the greatest mother around when I saw my son outshine many of the other kids in his class. He was well past the other kids in his first grade class and the teachers were very impressed. All of this by just finding the right way to teach and work with my son. As you can see, I am extremely proud and happy that he is going to be successful. Your children can be too…
