As a young mother, I always wanted the best for my children. I wanted to make sure they succeeded in life and had the very best education possible. I would spend time with my children playing memory games and games that taught them to think for themselves. I was never so proud as when my son beat me at Battleship by the age of 5. Now that takes a lot of brains to do (not that I am very good at the game.)

I also found that developing my son’s math skills would be the best way to ensure that he would be successful in school. Sure, you can teach your children the old fashioned way by showing him or her “flashcards,” but I found that my child would not retain this knowledge. I’m sure many of you mothers and fathers can understand.
